There's more to the heart of Nevada than the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas!
A familiar sight to most rural Nevadans is open space, mountains, quaking aspens, meandering rivers, creeks, and veins of gypsum and granite. Most rural Nevadans enjoy getting outdoors and "prospecting" for almost anything. There are silver mines, gold mines and copper mines. There is opal, jade, pyrite, tourquoise, and quartz. Nevada's hills are rich in history, too. There are many areas with petroglyphs and other signs of ancient Indian culture. We hope that you will share your stories and pictures with us as we grow out here in the virtual Heart of Nevada.
